the Elk Garden Mill, which was later bought by Smiley Ratliff. In 1945 H. O. Pratt bought the Rosedale Governor’s mansion.  Zan Stuart, a nephew of Governor Stuart, and who managed the Stuart Land and Cattle Company after 1933, lived in East Rosedale.  After Zan’s death, it became the residence of his widow.
